Phoenix is a registered charity governed by a constitution and is a non-profit making organisation. We are based in Newtown and Llandrindod Wells and run with the help of volunteers. Phoenix collects donated furniture, household effects and electrical items from the public. Once in our warehouse they are cleaned, sorted, and where necessary tested by qualified staff before being passed on to people living within Powys.
Anyone in receipt of a welfare benefit, pension, or on a low income can come and see us. You can choose the items you require and then arrange free delivery. We do not sell furniture but a small charge is made for each item which helps to cover our running costs.
Phoenix also offers training opportunities for young people, long term unemployed, people with mental health problems and those wishing to learn a new skill. Training is accredited to the open college network which provides useful qualifications in the world of work.
